The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad witnessed a public discussion for the master’s student Sajjad Hussein Faleh from the Department of Electrical Engineering, about his thesis entitled “A Proposed Consensus Algorithm for Blockchain”, on 18th<\/sup> Sept. 2024 in the discussion hall and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Dhiaa Jassim Kazim. The thesis aimed to create and evaluate an improved consensus mechanism known as TI-PBFT, which aims to improve performance and scalability in large-scale distributed networks. The thesis also included a study on evaluating the performance of Hyperledger Fabric in the field of vehicle registration and ownership transfer to enhance e-government services.<\/p>\n

The thesis reached a set of recommendations, including:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Using a mechanism that excludes low-trust nodes to enhance network security and reduce the impact of malicious nodes.<\/li>\n
  2. Dividing nodes into small groups to achieve faster consensus and better network performance.<\/li>\n
  3. Focusing on developing TI-PBFT to adapt to large networks, which increases the scalability of blockchain technology for wide use.<\/li>\n
  4. Adopting Hyperledger Fabric to improve the efficiency of government services in vehicle registration and ownership transfer.<\/li>\n
  5. Carefully selecting network settings to achieve a balance between throughput and response speed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
