[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad witnessed the public discussion and defense for the degree of doctor of philosophy by student Saja Abdul Razzak from the Department of Civil Engineering. Her dissertation titled “Business Information Modeling for improving the practice management in Iraqi construction industry.” The defense took place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, in the Khaled Shakir Hall, Department of civil Engineering, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sawsan Rasheed Mohammed.<\/p>\n

The main objective of this study is to introduce a new approach to Business Information Modeling to develop practice management and improve productivity using Re-Managing Processes.<\/p>\n

Through the personnel interviews, open questionnaire, and closed questionnaire process, the following points are concluded; Major benefits for investigate the relationship between BsIM and developing practice management and improving productivity in construction firms, are mainly due to two of aspect: Firm\u2019s Growth (FG) and Organizational Performance (OP); It is noted that there is a direct, positive and strong correlation with a value of 98% between variable (Firm\u2019s Growth) (FG) and variable (Organizational Performance) (OP),\u00a0 which indicates that these two variables strongly affect BsIM for construction companies; Only Ten variables have an important impact on the relationship between BsIM and developing practice management and improving productivity in construction firms, the highest relative importance for variable (FG1) (BsIM helps efficient high quality service delivery)was (83.33%), There is only one variable with a relative importance of less than 50%, which is the variable (FG3) (BsIM helps clarity duties and responsibilities in order to speed work) and it has a relative importance of (46.67%).<\/p>\n

Final result of the main dimensions of BsIM, on which the Ministry of Construction and Housing depends on improving the quality of business in its administrative units through the adoption of BsIM. The result indicates that the Ministry has distinct human resources that can deal with BsIM techniques, while the value of the second dimension related to infrastructure reached 72%, this indicates the strength and flexibility of the infrastructure owned by the Ministry, but the third dimension related to the management of BsIM obtained an unsatisfactory result of 56%, which requires attention and focus on this dimension to improve BsIM management for the better.<\/p>\n

Through the development of Suggested BsIM to developing practice management and improve productivity using re-managing of processes, and the development of the proposed program concluded; There is a pressing need to re-managing the processes and business provided by engineering managements in Resident Engineer\u2019s Offices (REO) in road, overpasses and tunnel projects in Iraq.<\/p>\n

A novel model as BsIM that enhances the quality of services offered while reducing unnecessary costs and improved productivity. The use of the proposed program was proved to be practical, reliable, fast and efficient in BsIM from both principle and applicable point of view.<\/p>\n
