The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, under the patronage of the Dean, held an in-person panel discussion titled \u201cUnderstanding the Aerodynamic Characteristics of Airfoils with Plain Flaps During Take-off Phase.\u201d Organized by the Aeronautical Engineering Department, the event took place on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in the Smart Hall, led by Mr. Ahmed Tawfik Mustafa and attended by professors and students.<\/p>\n

The discussion addressed the significance of studying the aerodynamic characteristics of airfoils with plain flaps during take-off, focusing on flow behavior at low angles of attack and Reynolds numbers. This phase poses a high risk of stalling, potentially leading to control loss and jeopardizing aircraft safety.<\/p>\n
