The Department of Architecture at the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, orchestrated an illuminating workshop titled “Landscape Design for Public Parks” on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Delving into both theoretical and practical aspects, the workshop provided a comprehensive exploration of the intricacies involved in crafting vibrant outdoor spaces.<\/p>\n

The theoretical segment of the workshop navigated through five pivotal axes. These included discussions on the diverse types of spaces within public parks, the nuances of furnishing elements and their role in complementing outdoor environments, the design considerations for children’s play spaces, the integration of water elements, and the conceptual understanding of monuments within park settings. Each axis was meticulously dissected, with an array of supportive design examples elucidating the discussed concepts.<\/p>\n

Transitioning from theory to practice, the workshop ventured into a captivating design project focused on a virtual park nestled along the riverbanks. Under the guidance of esteemed professors, a cohort of enthusiastic students from the Department of Architecture unleashed their creativity, generating innovative design ideas that seamlessly integrated the principles covered in the workshop’s theoretical framework.<\/p>\n

The workshop was spearheaded by a team of distinguished lecturers and supervisors, including Dr. Nisreen Razzaq I., Dr. Hala Shamsi M., Dr. Aseel Abdulhaleem L., Dr. Anfal Muayyad M., and Dr. Asmaa Sadiq A.
