Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdel Majeed, and the supervision of the Head of the Environmental Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Ayad Abdel Hamza Faisal, the Environmental Engineering Department held a workshop entitled<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cUsing artificial intelligence tools in scientific research\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the scientific activities of the Environmental Engineering Department and sponsored by the Continuing Education Unit, a workshop was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Hussein Jabbar Kadhum, on Sunday, 10\/3\/2024, in the discussion room in the Environmental Engineering Department, in the presence of a number of college professors and graduate students at the University of Baghdad, within the ASDPS system of workshops and courses for graduate students. The workshop dealt with the latest artificial intelligence tools and their uses in scientific research. These tools include<\/strong><\/p>\n

– <\/strong>Search tools for scientific sources<\/strong><\/p>\n

– <\/strong>Search tools within files and texts<\/strong><\/p>\n

– <\/strong>Academic writing and paraphrasing tools<\/strong><\/p>\n

– <\/strong>Tools for statistical analysis of data<\/strong><\/p>\n

– <\/strong>Tools for mind maps, graphics and presentations<\/strong><\/p>\n

– <\/strong>Linguistic and spelling checking tools<\/strong><\/p>\n

– <\/strong>Tools for machine translation of texts<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the workshop was to introduce specialized artificial intelligence tools to provide support and assistance to researchers and graduate students. Finally, the workshop came up with a set of recommendations, including<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Artificial intelligence tools are very important and help the researcher increase the productivity of scientific research, but they are not a substitute for it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

–<\/strong>The necessity of adhering to the ethics of scientific research in academic writing.<\/strong><\/p>\n
