The collaborative efforts between the Continuing Education Center and the Department of Architecture at the University of Baghdad culminated in the successful conclusion of the training course titled ‘Mechanisms for Achieving Urban Sustainability in Local Residential Environments.’<\/p>\n

The focus of the course’s third day centered on sustainability in traditional local environments and the strategies for its activation in contemporary architecture. Mr. Hassan Haider delved into the sustainability of the urban structure in the traditional city of Najaf, highlighting key elements contributing to the longevity of ancient Iraqi houses. Simultaneously, Dr. Shatha Abbas delivered an insightful lecture on the sustainability of the traditional fabric in the old city of Baghdad, emphasizing the distinctive features of the old Rasafa area that played a pivotal role in its urban sustainability.<\/p>\n

The three-day course featured diverse training methods, including interactive lectures, audience participation, and comprehensive assessments. The sessions aimed to empower participants with fundamental knowledge about urban sustainability in local residential environments.
