The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Baghdad organized a seminar for postgraduate students on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, and Monday, January 8, 2024. During this event, students presented the practical aspects and results of their research projects, discussing the challenges encountered during the research phase, including testing equipment and chemical materials needed for completing the practical components of their theses.<\/p>\n

The discussion committee for the seminar included the following professors:<\/p>\n

1. Assistant Professor Dr. Atheer Muhammad Ghalib
\n2. Assistant Professor Dr. Samar Karim
\n3. Dr. Suhaila Abdel Reda
\n4. Dr. Mahmoud Khazal
\n5. Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Naoum Abdel Razzaq
\n6. Dr. Hassanein Abbas Hassan<\/p>\n

The seminar featured presentations by the following students and their respective research topics:<\/p>\n

1. Nour Taha – Research Title:
\n“Efficient Carbon Dioxide Capture in Packed Column by Solvents Blend Promoted by Chemical Additives”
\n– Supervised by Prof. Dr. Ibtihal Karim Shaker<\/p>\n

2. Abdullah Ghanem – Research Title:
\n“Development of mixed matrix nanofiltration membranes for effective wastewater treatment”
\n– Supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Sama Muhammad Abdullah<\/p>\n

3. Abdel Moneim Sahab – Research Title:
\n“Novel hybrid filtration membrane reinforced by photocatalytic metal oxides for organic pollutants removal in a simultaneous process”
\n– Supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Sama Muhammad Abdullah<\/p>\n

4. Reman Abboud – Research Title:
\n“Elimination of dyes from mimicked wastewater by combined electrochemical systems”
\n– Supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Rasha Habib Salman<\/p>\n

5. Zahraa Majeed – Research Title:
\n“Elimination of Organic Pollutant from Simulated Wastewater by Electro-Fenton and Sono-Electro-Fenton Processes”

6. Nour Jassim – Research Title:
