The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ibtihal Kareem Shakir and Lecturer Dr. Huda Majid Hassan.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop aimed to introduce the latest analytical techniques used to investigate the structural, chemical, and physical properties of nanomaterials and explore their applications across various engineering disciplines. It highlighted the fundamental differences between nanomaterials and conventional materials, explaining how the nanoscale dimensions of nanoparticles and their high surface-area-to-volume ratio give rise to distinctive properties, making advanced characterization techniques essential for obtaining accurate and reliable results.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop covered a range of modern characterization techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS). It also addressed several spectroscopic techniques, such as Ultraviolet\u2013Visible Spectroscopy (UV\u2013Vis), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Raman Spectroscopy, and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the workshop emphasized the importance of integrating these techniques to obtain comprehensive information about nanoparticle size and morphology, crystal structure, and surface and chemical properties.
