Prof. Dr. Haider Mohammed Abdul-Hameed, participated in the Innovation and Distinguished Graduation Projects Exhibition, organized by the Iraqi Engineers Association on 26 September 2026.The participation reaffirmed the Department\u2019s commitment to promoting engineering innovation and translating scientific research into practical solutions for contemporary environmental challenges. The exhibition featured a range of engineering projects and innovative ideas that reflected the Department\u2019s focus on developing sustainable and applicable environmental solutions. The Department presented three innovative projects, which attracted considerable attention and appreciation from officials and participants at the exhibition. The projects addressed practical and implementable solutions in several environmental engineering applications, including novel approaches for hospital wastewater treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, and biogas production from food waste. As part of the exhibition, a technical discussion session was held to highlight the role of innovation and scientific research in advancing engineering and environmental solutions. The three projects were presented and discussed during the session, with particular emphasis on their innovative concepts, practical applicability, and potential contribution to addressing environmental challenges.The participating projects received positive recognition from officials and attendees, who commended the scientific quality, innovative approaches, and practical environmental applications demonstrated by the students.This participation is aligned with the vision of the University of Baghdad to foster a culture of innovation, support scientific research, and encourage researchers and students to transform scientific knowledge into practical and sustainable applications.At the conclusion of the event, the participating students and supervisors were honored in recognition of their scientific efforts and active contribution to the success of the exhibitio<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Environmental Engineering Department Honors Faculty Members in Recognition of Their Distinguished Participation The Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Prof. Dr. Abeer Al-Ward, honored a group of faculty members in recognition of their distinguished participation and contribution to the Innovation Exhibition. This recognition reflects the Department\u2019s appreciation of the scientific and innovative efforts presented and its commitment to supporting scientific research, innovation, and academic development.Prof. Dr. Abeer Al-Ward emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of innovation and strengthening the integration of academic knowledge with practical engineering applications that address the needs of society and contribute to environmental sustainability. She also commended the scientific achievements of the Department\u2019s faculty members and students, as well as the distinguished level of performance demonstrated by the Department throughout the exhibition.The recognition ceremony was attended by a number of faculty members from the Department, who participated in celebrating the achievement and expressed their pride in the scientific and innovative contributions presented at the exhibition.The Department\u2019s leadership reaffirmed that supporting researchers, innovators, and emerging scientific talents constitutes a fundamental component of its vision for advancing the academic and research environment. Such support aims to create an enabling environment for scientific creativity, innovation, and the development of practical engineering solutions to contemporary environmental challenges. In conclusion, the Department renewed its commitment to supporting scientific talents and young researchers, emphasizing that innovation and scientific research are fundamental pillars for building a more sustainable environmental and engineering future.
