The workshop was held at Professor Dr. Mahmoud Omar Hall in the Department of Chemical Engineering and delivered by a distinguished group of the department\u2019s faculty members.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop aimed to highlight modern technologies in the field of water desalination and the treatment of highly saline water, as well as to demonstrate the role of Osmotically Assisted Reverse Osmosis (OARO) technology in enhancing treatment efficiency and reducing energy consumption. This supports sustainable solutions to address water scarcity challenges and strengthen water security.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop addressed the scientific and engineering principles of the technology and explained its mechanism as one of the promising hybrid technologies in the desalination sector. It also reviewed the main factors affecting performance efficiency, including osmotic pressure, salt concentrations, and the properties of the membranes used. In addition, the workshop discussed major operational challenges and ways to address them in order to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of the workshop, the lecturers emphasized the importance of supporting scientific research and modern applications in the field of water treatment and desalination.
