The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering, in cooperation with the Continuing Education and Rehabilitation and Employment Units, organized a scientific workshop titled \u201cRationalizing Household Electricity Consumption.\u201d<\/em> The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Adnan Kadhim on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with the attendance of a number of students and interested participants.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to enhance awareness of effective methods for reducing electricity consumption and to introduce practical approaches that contribute to lowering household energy use. It also highlighted the role of modern technologies in monitoring consumption and improving efficiency, supporting resource conservation and reducing environmental impact.<\/p>\n

The session emphasized the importance of managing household electricity usage through practical measures, including organizing appliance operation schedules and using energy-efficient technologies, which help reduce costs and improve overall consumption efficiency.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the workshop included a presentation of a smart application designed to simulate electricity consumption. This tool enables users to analyze household appliance data based on operating hours, estimate approximate costs according to standard criteria, identify the highest energy-consuming devices, and propose practical solutions to minimize waste.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the workshop, the lecturer recommended expanding awareness programs, encouraging the adoption of high-efficiency appliances and technologies, and utilizing smart applications to monitor consumption\u2014efforts that promote a culture of conservation and achieve positive economic and environmental outcomes.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
