Prof. Dr. Teghreed Hassan Ibrahim<\/strong>, University of Baghdad \u2013 College of Engineering, Member.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Asst. Prof. Dr. Afrah Mohammed Hassan Mousa<\/strong>, University of Technology \u2013 College of Civil Engineering, Member.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prof. Dr. Meervat Razzaq Wali Altaie<\/strong>, University of Baghdad \u2013 College of Engineering, Supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The thesis addressed the challenges facing current bridge inspection practices in Iraq, particularly in the city of Baghdad. It aimed to develop an integrated framework for the bridge inspection process, beginning with a systematic methodology for numbering and classifying bridge components and culminating in the development of a web-based digital system for managing bridge inspections.<\/p>\n<p>This system seeks to identify current deficiencies, meet operational requirements, and overcome weaknesses in traditional inspection planning and documentation. It also enables the automated generation of technical inspection reports to support engineering decision-making and improve the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of documenting inspection processes while reducing the time and effort required.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the research findings, a set of recommendations was proposed, including:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Establishing a national operations room<\/strong> to manage and coordinate bridge inspections across Iraq, involving all relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, Baghdad Municipality, Roads and Bridges Directorates in the governorates, security and traffic authorities, and maintenance and emergency teams. This initiative aims to standardize inspection procedures, coordinate traffic management during inspections, centralize data management, respond quickly to emergencies, and prevent duplication of efforts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adopting the proposed three levels of inspection<\/strong> and circulating them to all concerned authorities to ensure clear and unified inspection standards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Standardizing the numbering system for bridges and their components<\/strong> according to the framework developed in this research, facilitating data archiving and tracking the condition of each structural element.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Providing periodic training and qualification for inspection teams<\/strong> on modern techniques for visual and detailed inspections and on the proper use of inspection equipment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Continuously updating the bridge database<\/strong> to reflect changes resulting from maintenance, expansion, or repair of damages.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After the scientific discussion by the committee members, listening to the researcher\u2019s defense, and evaluating the thesis, the researcher was awarded a <strong>Master\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering<\/strong> with a grade of <strong>Excellent<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;3&#8243; images=&#8221;10796&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;] The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad witnessed the public defense of the Master\u2019s student Khattab &#8230; <a class=\"cz_readmore\" href=\"https:\/\/en.coeng.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=10794\"><i class=\"fa fa-angle-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><span>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0632\u064a\u062f<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":165,"featured_media":10796,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[35,31],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-10794","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-civil-engineering","category-thesis"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
