Amal Fadhil<\/strong> from the Department of Architectural Engineering entitled:<br \/>\n<strong>\u201cVisual Storytelling and Place-Based Learning: A Generative Approach to Architectural Cultural Awareness.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The study was published in the <em>Journal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering<\/em>, issued by the international publishing house <strong>Taylor &amp; Francis<\/strong>, which is indexed in <strong>Scopus<\/strong> within the first quartile (<strong>Q1<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>This research represents part of the doctoral dissertation of researcher <strong>Eng. Amal Fadhil<\/strong>, supervised by <strong>Prof. Dr. Huda Al-Alwan<\/strong>. The study examined the role of <strong>sketch-based visual storytelling<\/strong> in enhancing cultural awareness among architecture students by analyzing visual stories drawn by students before and after visiting heritage sites, in order to understand how they interact with place.<\/p>\n<p>The findings demonstrated that integrating field experience with visual storytelling enhances students\u2019 understanding of architectural characteristics and spatial organization of heritage sites, strengthens their emotional connection to place, and encourages engagement with the historical environment and appreciation of its cultural values.
