Under the patronage of the Head of the Department of Architecture, Asst. Prof. Dhirgham M. Al-Obaydi, and in coordination with the lecturer in our department, Asst. Prof. Fawzia Irhaiym Hussein, an explanatory lecture entitled “Growth in Living Organisms” was held in collaboration with Dr. Zaid Ali Hussein, a faculty \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0member at the College of Science\/Department of Biotechnology.<\/p>\n
The lecture aimed to assist fifth-year students in their graduation project, which involves developing the area between Al-Shuhada Bridge and Bab Al-Muadham Bridge, and between the river and Haifa Street. The project aims to connect the topic with the growth of living organisms, where students attempt to transform the study area into a flexible zone that can accommodate and cope with the surrounding challenges.<\/p>\n
The main idea focuses on turning the city into an urban resilience that can efficiently handle and quickly return to its normal rates during crises. The project also discusses how to manipulate DNA for the area to achieve these goals, with the most illustrative example of flexible and adaptive handling being living organisms, as DNA for living organisms is characterized by its flexibility in confronting and resisting changes, developments, and external conditions.<\/p>\n
